Your message was a shock to me but I would rather know ahead of time that it is gone. If I had driven by and found it was no longer there it would have been devastating.
I always thought about restoring it but that wouldn't have happened. I am sorry I never got a chance to go inside. I have also been told that the Colley Tavern on Rt. 40 W is also not standing. It was part of my family history, too.
Considering the age of those buildings, it is amazing that they lasted as long as they did.
Any photos would be appreciated. I am glad I got the chance to take the one I posted. I was going to make a memory book for my parents about ten years ago but that photo and several others of memorable places around Uniontown looked so depressing that I changed my mind.
When I was growing up the old home was inhabited but the
people were not maintaining it properly.
I guess I have experienced another of life's passages with the house being gone. Thank you for responding to my post.
