McDONALD, Sister M. Alfrida
Sister M. Alfrida McDonald, of the Sisters of St. Joseph, died Monday at St. Mary’s Home after an extended illness.
A former teacher in the Erie Diocesan elementary schools, Sister Alfrida served the faculty of St. Patrick’s in Erie, St. Mary’s in Reynoldsville, and Holy Rosary Schools in Johnsonburg and Erie.
She entered the community of the Sisters of St. Joseph Feb. 23, 1905, and made her final profession, Aug. 15, 1912. She was born in Crown, Pa.
Survivors are two brothers, Patrick McDonald, Crown, and Ambrose McDonald Cleveland, Ohio.
Friends may call at the St. Mary’s Home Convent (Ash St. entrance) any time Tuesday and are invited to attend Solemn High Mass in St. Mary’s Home Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
