WEBER, Wendell (Bill)
Wendell (Bill) Weber, eighty-one, 1601 High St. (formerly of 523 Evans St.) died unexpectedly Thursday at his home.
Until his retirement, he had worked as a roll builder at Continental Rubber Works for 49 years. Mr. Weber grew up and lived for many years on the site of the new Glenwood YMCA.
He was a member of the South End Benefit Association (Sunflower Club) and was the oldest member of the Local 61, United Rubber Workers of America.
Survivors are his wife, Mayme Dreier Weber; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Josephine) Rilling and Mrs. Leila Weber, both of Erie; two grandchildren, Sonny Rilling and Richard Weber; and a brother, Joseph Weber, Erie.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Rev. Clair O. Dufford, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, will conduct services at 2 p.m. Monday.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
