Thank you! That doesn't answer the question, but it does show that I was looking in the wrong place!... I found that marriage license app on familysearch thanks to your hint, so I now have it. It all makes sense! I still can't find any kind of census record for Lizzie prior to her marriage, or anything else with her parents' names indicated, but at least I've narrowed the search. swm
