Didn't find info on John but did you know that Mabel Bail & W. Clarence Whitby had a son Willliam C. who died in 1914 at 11 months old. FamilySearch.org has his death certificate under "Delaware Death Records, 1855-1955". Maybe you could check the cemetery to see if John may be buried there. I found my g-grandmother that way. When I checked my grandparent's grave I found that she was buried with them.
