I appreciate your reply and suggestions. I'll include all I know about James Sturman. You are right that he and wife, Marion or Marian arrived in this country after 1880. I don't know their port of entry. They resided in the Bryn Mawr area of PA where their son, James, was born in 1884. The DC I have is titled Return of a Death in the City of Philadelphia. Physician's certificate. James Sturman, White, Male, Married DOD 11.10.85 signed Geo. Yardley Taylor, MD Presbyterian Hospital. Place of birth England, Occupation: Laborer. Date of Burial Nov 14 1885 and Place of burial: Radnor, Del Co. PA. It was family history that his wife Marion worked at an orphanage in the Bryn Mawr area. I don't know the name of it. I don't know about the religious affiliation for the family at that time either. After the death of James Sturman, his widow married George Berry abt 1891. George was from England as were both James and Marion. The only child (son) of James and Marion was "taken" at age 7 by a farmer in Cumberland Co. NJ and raised there. Marion wrote to him several times, but the farmer never gave the boy his mother's letters. After the farmer died, the daughters of the farmer, gave the boy the letters his mother had written to him the last was dated October 1902. It was in the 1940s when the letters came to the surface and by then the boy (also named James) was never able to find his mother or what happened to her. He also didn't know where his father, the subject of this search, was buried. I now know it was Radnor, Del. Co. but nothing else.
