I am trying to figure out if there is a connection between two Fralick people who were probably born in Dauphin County in the early 1800's and who both ended up in Crawford County, Ohio in the 1830's - I believe they are the son's of William and Mary (Hardin) Fralick (also spelled Fralich) but I cannot find any proof and hope someone from this site can help me.

I can prove that Daniel Fralick is the son of William and Mary and can place William & Mary and Daniel & his family in Holmes, Crawford County, Ohio in the 1850 census (and subsequent census records). Daniel was definitely born in Dauphin County according to his obit.

David Fralick does not appear in Crawford County until the 1860 census...and he got there by way of Richland county, Ohio...but records indicate he was born in Pennsylvania and possibly Dauphin County. David is buried in the same cemetery as William, Mary, Daniel and Daniel's family (Brokensword Cemetery in Holmes, Crawford County, Ohio).

Does anyone know where I might be able to find birth records in Dauphin County from the early 1800's that might tell me the names of the parents of David and Daniel. David was born in 1813 and Daniel was born in 1817? Are there any biographies from that time that might help me to determine the parents of these two men? Unfortunately, I have not been able to find information in Crawford County, Ohio that is of any help. I have bios, obits, marriage records and death records and none of them mention the parents names...it is very frustrating!!

Thank you very much for any and all help.

I would also like the answers to these question also. I think that William and Mary had another son Emanuel born about 1828 in Pa. Emanuel is my great great grandfather, his son Ira John Fralick is my great grandfather and his son Earl C Fralick ( age 98 right now ) is my father. if you have any information I would like to know it.

thank.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to obtain any additional information since I posted that message in 2008. I can send you the obituary for Daniel Fralick dated October 11, 1895, if you would like...but I have been completely stopped in my tracks with relation to this part of the family line!! I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to find additional information and just cannot find any help. I am fairly sure that THIS Fralick line connects to the other Fralick's from the area...but I just cannot prove it...and I flat refuse to go forward until I can actually prove my theory.

I did look through the cemetery records in Crawford County, where these Fralick's lived and died, to see if there was an Emanuel listed...but there was not...that does not necessarily mean there was not a child by that name...but it makes me wonder if it is the correct family. I see no mention of this person in any of the obits I have, any of the census records...or this cemetery record...BUT it just could be that I don't have all of the information on this family.

I hope someone will eventually see this post and respond to it...maybe with your new post it will bring attention to it again.

Thanks for writing.

Susan
