Cooper Wright family, Derry Township, 1884 - 1920's

Looking for information or burial location of:

Arthur Cooper Wright - 1853, England

Married in 1884 to: Margaret S. - 1860, England

He immigrated in 1884, her in 1885, to Derry Township, Dauphin County, PA.

Family later dropped Cooper from the surname...just Wright now. They had 5 children who later moved to East Pennsboro, Cumberland County, PA.

His occupation was a farmer and I know their oldest son, Arthur Cooper Wright II, was Catholic. He is burried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Reasonable locations of burials in Derry Township would help.

I have located the burial locations for the Cooper Wright family at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery located at Main and Vine Streets in Middletown, PA.

Both Arthur Cooper Wright Sr. and Jr. worked at a quarry, circa 1910. I'm assuming this quarry was associated with the Hummelstown Brownstone Company.

I'm looking for photos or other information regarding former employees of the Hummelstown Brownstone Company...maybe a listing of surnames of previous workers. Any thoughts on this?

The Hummelstown Brownstone Company, was formerly the Pennsylvania Brown Free Stone Company.

Have you tried:

The Dauphin County Historical Society, records titled Hummelstown Brownstone Manuscript Group. I'm sure they will have some good information and advice.

The PA Historical and Museum Commission erected a historical marker in 2005.

Or the PA State Library for the Hummelstown Sun Newspaper or any books they may have.

Including, Ben F. Olena "Hummelstown Brownstone - Five Quarries Mined the Prized Sandstone from 1867-1929", In: Pennsylvania magazine, Vol. 19, No. 6, November/December 1996, pages 26-29 with four historical photographs.

Thanks...I need to find time to get to these places. I've also looked at going to the Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg's Archives located along Union Deposit Rd.
