Looking for the parents of Alexander Dallas McMichael (my great grandfather) born 29 Nov. 1835 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Also trying to find the names of his brothers who are said to have faught in the Civil War on the Northern side.

Your query of several years ago could have been mine. Alexander Dallas McMichael was my Great-grandfather, born in Dauuphin County, PA on November 29, 1835. I have many letters from his father-(A. McMichael who lived in IA) to him in Oregon 1866-1870. I know, from his obiturary, that he was next to the youngest of 12. If this gets to you, please get in touch.
