I'm searching for information on my 4th great grandparents, Samuel and Mary Keigley. Samuel was born in 1803 in Pennsylvania. Mary was born in 1802 in Pennsylvania. Their oldest daughter, Sarah (my 3rd great grandmother), was born in 1830, also in Pennsylvania. I'm wondering whether the family came from Cumberland County. Their other children were Ann born 1834, Diadema born 1836, July born 1838, Samuel A. born 1840 and Jacob born 1843. They were in Jolly township, Washington County, Ohio in 1850. Along with them was 10 month-old Martha Keigley and 5 month-old Townsend Keigley. I don't believe these two infants were Samuel's and Mary's children. They were most likely grandchildren. Samuel and Mary were still in Jolly in 1851. I haven't been able to find them in 1840 in Ohio, but I know they were there, because only Sarah was born in Pennsylvania. All the other children were born in Ohio, according to the census. Sarah married Martin Van Buren Clutter. I have been unable to locate their marriage. They had 5 sons. His Civil War pension file states only her maiden name and that she died 25 June 1874. Martin remarried nearly 5 years later and had 9 more children. Four of the children were under the age of 16 when Martin died.
