David McCurdy was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in 1768. He married Elizabeth Appleby before 1790. In 1790 their first child was born in West Pennsborough, Pennsylvania. By November of 1791 the family was in Madison County, Georgia which is where their second child was born. In 1803 they are in Jackson County, Georgia where they remained through 1805. In 1806 they are in Bedford County, Tennessee, where they remained at least until 1816.
