Surnames: Davenport, Van Order, McDowell
From "History of Crawford County, PA" published by Warner, Beers, and Co. 1885: Summerhill Township: H.H.DAVENPORT, farmer , P.O. Dicksonburg, was born in Tompkins County, N.Y., March 18, 1821, son of Solomon and Nancy (Van Order) Davenport and brother of J.A. Davenport. Our subject, who is fourth in the family, received a partial academic education, and taught school about five terms in his younger days; afterward engaged in boat building and repairing, along the line of the Erie Extension Canal, which business he followed for about twenty years; also worked at the carpenter's and joiner's trade. He was married in 1847, to Betsey McDowell, a native of Summerhill Township, this county, born in 1828, and daughter of George McDowell, whose father, John, was a brother of the father of Samuel S. McDowell. Three children were the result of this union: George F., and attorney at law in Meadville and ex-district Attorney; James L. , an extensive farmer in Summit Township, and Miss Lida A. Our subject and wife are members of the R. T. and T. He is owner of 150 acres of well-improved land, part of which is his father's old homestead. In politics he is Republican.

I'm searching for information on Anna McDowell and her husband, Thomas John Robertson. she was born in 1884 or 1887 in Cambridge Springs. I have that they had 5 children, I only have 4 names: Charles, Francis, Gladys, Kenneth, all probably born between 1900 and 1920

I'm afraid I don't know any more about Anna McDowell than is in the bio I posted. I am tracing the Davenport line, and some McDowells, but not Anna. I'm sorry I can't help you! Linda in Utah

Neighbors are Georger Fetterman, 35, NY & Anna, 39, PA and Crawford Hammond, 32, NY & Anna, 25, NY.

His sisters Lucy & Julia Ann went to LaSalle Co., IL Lucy married William L. F. Jones and Julia Ann married Edwin T. Jones formerly of Crawford Co. PA. Their brother Alfred also came to LaSalle Co., IL. These three are buried in IL.
