Copy of this Deed was received from Bonnie Farver of the Columbia County Historical Society, September 1993. It would appear that my 3rd Great Grandfather, Daniel Yetter was representing the Estate of his father in law, Michael Bitler in the sale of Michael's land. The following is the text taken from the Deed
This Indenture made the Seventh day of July One Thousand Eight hundred and forty nine between Daniel Yetter Trustee appointed by the Orphans Court of Columbia County to sell the real estate of Michael Bitler deceased of the one part and Samuel B. Diemer of the other part- Witneseth whereas upon proceedings in the partition in the Orphans Court of Columbia County at August term 1848 upon the Estate of Said Michael Bitler deceased. Situated in Cattawissa and Roaring Creek Townships in Said County adjoining lands of J & D Yoder John Perry, William Rohrbach, Jacob Rohrbach and a tract of land belonging to the Estate of Intestate and Samuel Bitler as tenants in common containing about Three hundred acres on which are erected a furnace dwelling houses and other buildings this matter was So proceeded in that at the January term of Said Court 1849 upon petition the Court granted an order for the Sale of the Said tract of lands and appurtenances and the Said Daniel Yetter having first given bail according to the order of the court and having first given due public and timely notice of the time and place of Sale did on the First day of March Eighteen hundred and forty nine expose the Said ******* to Sale by public vendue or outcry on the premises and Sold the Same to the Said Samuel B. Diemer at and for the Sum of Twelve Thousand dollars which Said Sale upon report made to the Court at April term 1849 was duly confirmed as by the records of Said Court appears. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the Said Daniel Yetter Trustee as aforsaid for and in consideration of the Sum of Twelve Thousand dollars to him paid by the Said Samuel B. Diemer at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained Sold released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, Sell, release and confirm unto the Said Samuel B. Diemer his heirs and assigns all that the aboveMentioned and described message tenements and tract of lands hereditaments and premises to have and to hold the Same unto the Said Samuel B. Diemer his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use and behoof forever In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day and year first above mentioned.

Daniel Yetter SEAL? Sealed and Received the day of Columbia County S.S. delivered in the date of the above Be it known that on the Seventh presence of us mentioned indenture day of July One thousand Eight of Samuel B. Diemer hundred and forty nine before me David Clar the consideration David Clark a Justice of the money above mentioned peace of Said County personally in full. appeared the above mentioned Daniel Yetter and acknowledged Daniel Yette the foregoing Indenture to be his act and deed that the Same might be recorded In testimony whereof I hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day and year aforsaid.* David Clark SEAL JP*
