Seeking name of parents for William H. Snyder, born 1836, Carbon Co., PA. He left PA ? to Kansas, then Colorado. Joined Union Army in Civil war. Moved to Wild frontier below the Llano Estacado "Staked Plains" and opened trading Post for Buffalo hunters. Snyder, Scurry Co., TX was named after him. He was a businessman and rancher and died near Colorado City, TX.

He was visited by three brothers, Lee Grant Snyder of NY, Charles of Chicago, and Tom of AR. Lee and Charles served in the Union and Tom in the Confederate Army.
