Hi,
I had wrote in here before, and I asked some questions about my Tutelo family. First off, I have always felt very near my Indian family side of my dad and moms. While researching my Browns, who I also was told was Blackfoot of the east ie..Tutelo/Saponi, I happened to find a site of the tribe of the Tutelo of Tribe of Pennsylvania on the computer here at home. When I did, the strongest swift smell of sweetgrass came through our bedroom. My husband was laying on the bed on his lap top and I was at the base computer. He thought something was on fire. I said, no it was sweet grass. And it was a rainy day so no windows were open. I have had severaly sweetgrass visitations since then.
And the very real sense of knowing what Indian tribe we were goes back to various questions I have found in letters with distant cousins asking questions of where are Indian relations are. And my dads sister married their 2nd cousin, illigally in KY and he was from the same Indian grandmother knowing and telling the same thing everyone else asked- where is our family?
I grew up only knowing the name of Morning Star. She had married a Hiram Jones (and every census he sais he is born in a different state) . Finally found her name was Rebecca. Her father was a Daniel Lightfoot. He was 2nd generation English. His wife was a Brown. Her first name is very hard to recognize on the wedding certf,
My other computer died or else I would include theie wedding certificate. They were married in Wayne county Ohio in December 27 of 1820. Rebecca was born in 1825. We tend to believe she may have died in childbirth and he turned right around and married an Ann Wehr so she could take care of my grandmother Rebecca.
I wonder if Morning Star/Rebecca is not related to a William Fisher Brown and his wife Morning Star Smith. She may have been a neice becuase of the yrs?? There must be a connection somewhere.
