I (and many others!!) are looking for the parents of Elias B. McDowell b.1819 in Bucks Co, & d.1891 in Jefferson. Co. A biography of his son says that Eli's father was "the most prominent stone contractor" in Bucks Co. I am hoping that someone out there has some information about his family, or at least who might have been considered the prominent stone contractor in the late 1700'/early 1800's Bucks County! I found a William McDowell listed as a stone cutter but he was also born around the same time as Elias. This has been a brick wall for sure!!
