Looking for further information on PHILLIPS line: My g-g-grandmother was Emma PHILLIPS, born November 19, 1847 possibly in NJ (dau of Samuel PHILLIPS & probably Mary LEVANS); Emma was first married to Robert Maurice CROASDALE, born October 14, 1834 in Middletown, Bucks Co. (son of Jeremiah Woolston CROASDALE & Sarah WILSON); later married Robert G. WARWICK of Bristol, Bucks County who was born March 1836.
According to a written history in my family, Emma's father Samuel PHILLIPS was either from Lower Bucks or Philadelphia, and he was disowned after marrying "the widow VANZANDT." I believe this widow VANZANDT was the former Mary LEVANS-- as family history also places Samuel PHILLIPS as dying in the Civil War as a member of Co. 'E' 110th Regiment of Penna Volunteers; and the pension claim by Mrs. Mary PHILLIPS (widow of a Samuel PHILLIPS who served in that regiment) gives her maiden name as LEVANS and her mother's name as Charlotte TAYLOR. It has Mrs. Mary PHILLIPS as residing in Bristol, Bucks Co. (in 1863), but says she is formerly of Philadelphia.
Emma's brother was also named Samuel PHILLIPS, he was born November 05, 1849 acc to the pension claim, and there is a record in Burlington, NJ of this birth. Although I have not been able to find him in censuses, our family history says that he had about 6 children. "Some were living near Springfield, Mass... Others lived near Camden, N.J."
Family history also states that the widow VANZANDT (who I believe was Mary LEVANS) had a daughter from her first marriage (to VANZANDT) and this daughter married a HELLER, had 18 children and lived Bristol, PA.
Hoping to find someone else researching these lines - with 18 Heller children, maybe a descendant from that line -- THANKS!
