Erin, I think on the 1880 census under the sick column it says "lying in" maybe due to a pregnancy or illness. On the 1870 census for Elsa and her family there is a Ford family on the same page as Elsa's family.

Dorvillea Ford-age 47
Eliza A. Ford-age 39
Cleonice Ford-male-age 19-on the census record it looks like the spelling could be Clerance. In the 1860 census he is indexed as Clement Ford.
Emily Ford-age 13
Lora Ford-age 6
Amanda For-age 73

At the website for Bradford County, PA there are a couple mentions of Clarence Ford.
The Bradford County Library transcribed a diary of Geo. D. Bourne
January 21, 1873-Clarence Ford & Miss Alice Brown married in Church. General invitation given.
April 19, 1878-A sale of D. Fords personal property by Sheriff. Go to see Clarence Ford.
Sept. 19, 1879-Clarence Ford's child died. (At buried in Turnpike Cemetery there is a Paul B. Ford-b.June 2, 1879 and died Sept. 18, 1879.)

Dorvilla D. Ford and Eliza Sweet Ford are buried in the Thomas Cemetery in East Smithfield Bradford County, PA. I think this could be a possibility for Clarence's parents.

Have you tried to contact the Bradford Library? Maybe they would have an obit or will for Dorvilla or Eliza.

Good luck in your search. Kathryn
