I have been researching a family named Stouteagle from Bedford/Fulton counties for many months now. If anyone has anything (besides the typical census records... I have those) that would help, it would obviously be GREATLY appreciated. Of particular interest to me is obit's and headstone photos. Anything, really! This was a fairly small clan from the late 1700's thru the late 1800's. From what I can tell, there aren't any (direct/namesake) Stouteagle descendants living. Anything you are willing to share....?

Thanks a million,
Dennis.

Hello, Thank you for your interest in the McDaniel line. I am the 2nd Great-grandaughter of Harriet Means McDaniel. I have not found Rocelia in my information that you are looking for. If she is from Bedford Co. PA then she is probably related to Harriet. I see what you refer to about the unidentified female on the census. Let me look a little deeper into my old research notes. I have been looking into the McDaniels/Means line for about 20 years. I am also VERY interested in the maternal DNA that you mentioned. It may be more convienent to email me at abelard1996@msn.com. Please put "Means Genealogy" in the subject line. Of interest is that Harriet named her 4th son Jasper. It's the one name I have never been able to account for.

Hi, I have been trying to place an ancestor. Her name was Rocelia Means. For various reasons, I believe that she might have been the daughter of either James and Elizabeth (Robinson/Robison) Means OR of James and Rachel (Evans) Means. I remember some years ago seeing a family tree for James and Rachel (Evans) Means that did not list all of the children seen on the very early (1830 and 1840) Censuses for Bedford County. There was an older unidentified daughter that I think might have been Rocelia. Rocelia later named her first born son James and her second born daughter Rachel. (The eldest daughter was apparently named Elizabeth for the father's mother.) I have been wondering how much documentation has been assembled for this family. Was there a will executed? Did it name children? I would very, very much like to identify Rocelia's parents. Does Harriet (or any other daughter of that family) have any female line descendants living today? Mitochondrial testing might solve this.

We have very little information since my dad was sent to foster homes (along with the rest of the family) in about 1938. I have been to Bedford before, and once (when I was about 10) saw the graves of George Winter and Ida Bell (Putt) Winter. However, it is hard to get any solid information on either of them.

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

My Sensenbachs are also from Switzerland. Have you found any helpful information on this/our line? I was always told they were from a minor ryal family, well educated and had a financial connection/business with a Bavarian brewery, I think called Schneider Beer? (not sure of the spelling.) My Direct relative is Ana Elsbeth Sensenbach born bet. 1855-1865 in Switzerland (as her death cert. states.) I know she was in colorado in 1880-1882'ish managing a Brewery there for family.

Perhaps we can figure more out together. Hope to hear from you.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I also see that a Solomon Sparks married a woman named Susan, and they were living in Bedford County, PA. However, and I may be missing another Solomon&Susan Sparks, but the one that I see in the 1850 census, Susan wasn't born until 1813-14. Much too late to be Susanna Buck, daughter of David Buck. She was born circa 1798 from what I've seen. As was my Susanna.

Hello,

According to the Will of David Buck (spouse of Catherine Cashman), David had a daughter named Susannah. (Providence Township, Bedford Co., PA: Will of David Buck, dated 25 Feb 1816, Probated 28 Mar 1816; Will Book 1 page 454).

Susannah was named "next daughter" after Elizabeth.

I had Solomon Sparks as a possible husband for Susannah, however, I have a big question mark by his name. I have estimated she was born in Bedford between 1796 and 1799.

I am afraid that is all I have on Susannah Buck.

Kaye

Hello, I was wondering if you know if there is any relation to a Samuel Weyant, born in PA around 1828. His wife's name was Catharine and their children were John Weyant born in 1855, William Martin Weyant who died as a baby in 1857, Mary Emma Weyant born in 1863, my great grandfather George Washington Weyant born Feb 6, 1966 and Maggie Weyant born 1870. I know that as of 1850 they lived in kensington Philadelphia. I don't know anything else about my family.
