The book you refer to does have an entry for Gerhard Henry Muckerheide and contains additional information: He was a native of Oldenburg, Germany. You post notes the same-name individual in Indiana was Pennsylvania born.

Someone who was "Pennsylvania by birth" would be an American citizen and would not be Naturalized.

My remark here is from a glance at that book, not a look at the certificate.

Anyone have any info on Gerhard Muckerheide, or anyone else with that surname? I know that there is supposed to be a naturalization record for a Gerhard Henry (Heinrich) Muckerheide in Bedford County, but I haven't seen it. Here's the record information:
Name: Gerhard Henry Muckerheide
Year: 1838
Age: 21
Place: Pennsylvania
Source Publication Code: 6013.7
Primary Immigrant: Muckerheide, Gerhard Henry
Source Bibliography: NATURALIZATION PAPERS OF FULTON AND BEDFORD COUNTIES, PA. (Publications, vol. 5.) McConnellsburg, Pa.: Fulton County Historical Society, 1983. 72p.
Page: 50

I have another Gerhard Muckerheide in Indiana, born ca. 1818, whose obit says he was "Pennsylvanian by birth"--I think it's the same guy. If so, he was in Indiana by at least 1856, and quite possibly as early as 1852. He married Elizabeth Barbara Huber (b. ca. 1817), so any info on either of these families would be very much appreciated.

Hi, thanks for your wonderful offer. I'm looking for information on Lucinda married to Matthias Bowser in the 1880 census, Bedford Co., Union Twp with daughter Leah Catherine & his stepson Walter Mickey. In 1870 I find her married to George Mickey [Macke]in Cambria Co., Johntown Ward 6. She's my gggreatgrandmother & I can't find a maiden name for her.
In 1900 Matthias Bowser is remarried & his license says date of death of former wife's death is Dec. 16, 1894. I haven't been able to find any papers on marriages or death. Any help would be great. Thanks, Jean

Hi - I tried emailing you Krista, but that email address bounced. Hopefully someone sees this.

I am a great-granddaughter of Frederick Gardner & Mary Belle Williams and have recently restarted my search. I had been previously unable to find Mary Belle William's parents, so I'd be interested in anymore information about that line. I'd also like to know anything about the other branches - my grandfather was William Clyde Gardner, and my mother Mary Jane Gardner, but our side doesn't seem to know a lot about the family. My email is tcobrien at gmail dot com

Children of GEORGE FREY Sr (FRY, FRAYE, etc) and his wife BARBARA baptized at Berlin German Reformed/ Evangelical Lutheran Church (then in Brother's Valley twp, Bedford Co PA, later became Somerset Co PA):

ANNA MARIA FREY born May 1, 1786, baptized June 14, 1786 Parents: GEORGE FREY & BARBARA; witnessed by Michale Peterman & Margaretha Sebald. ANNA MARIA FREY apparently married GEORGE MICHAEL PETERMAN.

CHRISTIAN FREY/FRY born Oct 21, 1787, baptized Nov 4, 1787; parents GEORGE FREY & BARBARA; witnessed by Christian Ebell & Anna Maria

GEORGE MICHAEL FREY/FRY born Jan 16, 1790, baptized March 13, 1790; parents JOHN GEORGE FREY & BARBARA; witnessed by Michael Peterman & Anna Maria

JOHN FREY/FRY born April 16, 1792, baptized April 19, 1792; parents GEORGE FREY & BARBARA; witnessed by John Wolford, Jr.

GEORGE FREY/FRY Sr & family lived in Brother's Valley twp as per church records & 1790 census, until 1800 census when they are listed in Quemahong twp (sp?) Somerset Co PA. GEORGE FREY Sr supposedly died 1830 in Somerset Co PA, but the will I saw did not match this list of children.

Source: census records & book Church Records of Berlin Somerset County Pennsylvania, translated from German 1929 by E.C. Saylor and transcribed by Helen Hill Greenberg

NOTE: Some researchers have indicated that GEORGE FREY Sr was married to ANNA MARIA "MARY" RHOEHN 1783 in Maryland, but GEORGE's wife is referred to as BARBARA in every church baptism record. Hope this helps!!
Anyone available to research Bedford Co. Tax Records?

Greetings! Is anyone available to search Bedford County Tax Records, specifically for North Woodbury Township (the area in and around Morrisons Cove that eventually became Blair County when formed in 1846)? Happy to reimburse for time, expertise, copies, and postage.

In a nutshell, I'd like to have tax records for my ancestor THOMAS BURNS who was taxed in North Woodbury Township, BLAIR COUNTY, at the formation of that county in 1846. I'd like someone to start with 1845 and work backwards year by year for that township which would have been part of BEDFORD COUNTY in earlier years.

Here's the 1846 entry:

Blair County Tax Records 1846 (year of formation of Blair County)

North Woodberry Twp.

Burns, Thomas: 1 cow (8), 1 occupation (40)
============================================
He was enumerated in the 1850 census, same place, but by 1860 the location was called "Taylor Township" (formed from N. Woodbury in 1855) and by 1870 he relocated somewhat west to Freedom Township. He died in 1880 and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring. Big picture goal is to identify his parents, siblings, etc. We have a theory but I need documentation.

Can anyone help, or direct me to someone who can? Thanks so much for reading.

Michael S. Caldwell

In her will probated in 1833, she named Sarah Clingerman as one of her children. Do you have any research that connects Sarah (Clingerman) Weicht to these people as ancestors. I have been working at finding more information about Joseph McKinley, a brother of Sarah Clingerman.
Thanks...I just visited Osterburg and went to the Reformed Cemeteries. I was able to find the stones for Barbara and Frederick Mock and also Katherine Korby (sic), the daughter of Joseph and Rosanna in the old cemetery. I have been unable to find a stone for Joseph, even though his death certificate says that he was interred in St. Clairsville. Any ideas on this? Maybe he is in the plot with them but there is no stone?

I know his sister Charlotte Minerva married a Shoenthal......in fact, I have been trying to find out if there are any living relatives of John Justus Hull.
Hope you are still around to answer this!! I believe Herbert Benjamin was a brother to John J.

I can give you more info....even though I have just started researching just a couple months ago.

Funny!
I have recently written "The case for William V Keller and Maria Vickroy" that summarizes the proof that the William Keller listed here is William V Keller b.abt.1796.PA and have many of the descendants of the family listed at RootsWeb Database edclgenealogy1. Would be glad to hear from others researching the family. We believe the father of William Keller is Knox Keller b.abt.1776.PA and d.1850-1860 in Allegany Co., MD but can find no other record in existance on Knox Keller other than his listing in the 1850 Census of Allegany Co., MD in the household of William Keller b.abt.1820.PA.
More info available for anyone interested and others with additional info requested to contact me.

That could be. There are quite a few burials in the old Union Cemetery that don't have stones. As far as I've been able to find, the only list of the burials there was from Tom Imler in his cemetery books. I haven't been able to find a list of people who were supposed to be buried there. Someone has to know some of them though, because there are usually flowers put on some of the graves marked by flagstones and things like that.
