Ralph A. DIEHL, 80, of R.D. 4, Bedford, died suddenly at noon Tuesday, January 27, 1976, at his home.
He was born in Colerain ownship, March 11, 1895, a son of John Irvin and Mary Catherine (WHEATSTONE) DIEHL.
He was married to the former Rachel H. SMITH who survives. They had celebrated their 53rd wedding aniversary on January 11.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one sister, Mrs. Rebecca KING, of Wellsville, New York.
Mr. DIEHL was the administrator of the Bedford County Home for a period of 26 years, retiring in 1968, He was a member of the Friends Cove Trinity United Church of Christ, a member of the Charlesville Grange; the Men's Organization of the POS of A; a member of the Bedford Masonic Blue Lodge; the Altoona Shrine and the Harrisburg Consistory.
Funeral services: Friday, January 30, at 2 p.m. in the Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, with Joseph W. Stewart, officiating. Burial in Bedford Cemetery.
Friends will be received in the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ building fund.
