I am searching for information on John Radler who owned
a shoe repair shop in Monaca on Penn Ave. He is my great grandfather. He was a transylvania saxon who immigrated from Transylvania in 1900s. Was married to a woman named, Mary. I believe they divorced and he married a woman named Sarah Lang. He was a member of the old Lutheran Church in Monaca. I am trying to find info on him and wives. Thank you.

Nicely photos would be: John Stephen and Adaline born abt.1838 & 1835. Some of their children were Earnest, killed in an auto accident in 1933; Lincoln and wife Jennie, family photo and other photos down thru this line. Married into King and Holtzman? families; Martha "Mattie" married Ambrose Dilworth. Many photos down this line. Refer to 1870 census Chippewa, Beaver County, Penna. for other children.Other photos include Iva Nicely, Will and Hecla (wife) Nicely, and Fae Nicely.

Will

Amanda, I have a Hill family connection with PA & East Palestine, Columbiana Co., OH. for whom I have been trying to find information. My ancestor, Isabelle Margretta Leake, b.1872 in PA; m. in 1891 in East Palestine, OH to Joseph Hill, b. 1872 in England. Joseph & Isabelle Leake Hill eventually moved to Michigan, where Isabelle died in 1935. I believe Joseph returned to East Palestine, where he died in 1956. Both are buried in EP's Glenview Cemetery. Are these names familiar to you...if your Hill family connects with mine, I would love to share info.

Hi Will,

First off, rescued photos, what a wonderful thing. It's always nice to have any photo rescued.

Next, I would be interested in any of the Hill photos. My line jumped back and forth betweeen Beaver Co and Columbiana Co Ohio with great regularity from the early 1800's on and my Hill line is extensive but elusive.

Also maybe the Braden line as well. This line is a little further back then my Hill line, but is just as extensive although mostly in WVA, some migrated to PA and OH as well.

Thanks Amanda

They were married before 1787 possibly in Washington Co., PA or that portion that is now Green Co. or Beaver Co., PA. William and Thomas Payton were in the Washington Co., militia in 1782 and thereabouts. It is believed that William later lived in Bourbon Co., KY. Mary may have had two brothers, Jacob and Michael Ribolt, who were also Washington Co., militia during the same period.

John McCall b ~1785, father of Jane who married James McCandless

I'm looking for information on a John McCall of Beaver County who was probably born sometime between the 1770's and 1790's. "The History of Mercer County, Pennsylvania, Past and Present" mentions that John McCall of Beaver County was the father of "Miss Jane McCall" who married James McCandless. Jane and James McCandless moved to West Middlesex, PA in Mercer County and lived there throughout their lives. I've found them in the census records. Jane was born in 1814 in Ohio and James in 1808 in Beaver County. My gg-grandfather, John McCall b. 1815 also lived in West Middlesex his whole life and I have a few pieces of info that lead me to believe he could be related to these McCalls, for example censuses for both Jane and my gg-grandfather John list Ohio as the state of birth. Information on my gg-grandfather is very scant. I have info on all of his children, but nothing for his parents or siblings. I'd love to hear any info anyone has on these individuals.

On the census for Worth Twp I found Kellys and Clarks it was the 1860 census. Anyhow I could not find the cemetary, but you may contact someone on the Butler County page and they may be able to help you. Happy Hunting.

My Grandparents lived down there. Their original house burned down in l959 and they rebuilt a small one story home. Now all the homes were torn down, Grandparents just about a month or two ago. What a bummer. Everything just has to change. HOORAY FOR HANKS STAYING THERE!!!!

Thank you for answering my query. I posted that query more than 7 years ago, so your response to it was a bit of a surprise. My interest in the Stone family goes nearly 33 years when I started my search for my ancestors. The Pattersons and the Stones were closely tied to one another after the marriage of Daniel Hull Stone (son of Stephen Stone and Catherine Hull) with Mary Petterson.
Though the line I am primarily interested in descends from Stephen's marriage with Catherine Hull, I am also interested in the children Stephen Stone and Sarah Anne Fuller. I have very little on these individuals. So I would be interested in information on these idividuals, but not necessarliy on the susbsequent generations of these individuals. My interest on the children of Stephen and Sarah is to complete my history on them while they were in Beaver County. I also I have no information on Samuel Colter, so I would be interested in any information you have on this individual.
How complete is your information on the children of Stephen Stone and Catherine Hull. My records on the descendants of Daniel Hull Stone are very good. My records on his siblings are mixed, some good, some not so good. Let me know if you are interested in this information.
Please make your response to my email address..
earl.patterson@comcast.net
Earl Patterson
Puyallup, WA
253-840-5083

I am a descendant of Stephen Stone of Beaver, PA. My great grandfather was his youngest son, William Edward Stone. After Stephen died, his wife Sarah remarried Samuel Coulter and came to Peoria,Il. The three sons, mother and step father came here (Peoria) in the 1850's. George H. and Marshall P. both married and George had a daughter, Elizabeth Thompson Stone, who lived 1863-1931 but she never married. George also had a son, George, who died in infancy, born 1862 and died 1863. Marshall's wife died after giving birth to a daughter, Caroline Washington, and the infant also died, living from 1862 -1863. Marshall never remarried. William E. had six children who survived into adulthood. There were four daughters, all of whom married but none had children. William E. Stone's eldest son was born in 1861 and died in 1936. He had two sons: William E. Stone III and John Boyd Stone, living from 1895 to 1959 and 1897 to 1986 respectively. WES III married but had no children. John Boyd had a first wife and two children, Henry Dayton Stone, born 1923 and still living in St. Louis, MO, and unmarried, and Cynthia Stone, born 1926, who was married three times. She was an actress in the 1950's and her first husband was the actor, Jack Lemmon, and her second husband was the actor, Cliff Robertson. She had two children and four grandchildren and she died in 1988.
William E. Stone I's second son was Harry Clayton Stone who lived from 1871 to 1956. He is my grandfather and I was named for him. He had two sons and a daughter, six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren so far. I have a son and daughter, one granddaughter and two grandsons all fathered by my son. If you are interested in more details, let me know.
I signed up for only one month membership on Ancestry.com so I could answer your Query which I found on Google while idly surfing Stone names.
My son is an attorney in Chicago and does trust and estate work so was able to have a table of the descendants of Stephen Stone and Sarah Fuller Stone printed up by his firm and I could send you an updated copy (two grandsons born since the table was made).

Harry C. Stone II

I suggest you look at the 1860 census. The children of the household were named that year and all you need is to find a five year old Alice. You will then know the names of her parents. My guess is that her father was the brother of one of my direct ancesters. Things get harder before 1850 because the census only named the head of the house, not the wife or children by name. I can only get back to a man named Samuel Veon> If you discover his father's name please let me know. Joe
