James Bell (son of Guian Bell d. 1808 and Mary Ann Day 1785-1863) and Maria Rhodes Daughter of Joseph Rhodes and Sarah McBride) married 29 Nov 1826. Mary Ann (Day) Bell married second William McCurdy in 1809.

Their children were:
Elizabeth Ann b. 23 Mar 1829 m. Martin Gillespie d. 28 Jan 1861
Joseph Rhodes b. 4 Jul 1831 d. 27 Apr 1881
Benjamin Franklin b. 23 Oct 1833 m. Mary Gibson d. 1896
William Guian b. 14 Sep 1836 m. Sarah Arnett d. 1 Mar 1928
James Jefferson b. 10 Apr 1839 m. Amanda Thurston d. May 1877
John Sutherland b. 25 Feb 1842 d. 2 Jul 1863
George Allison b. 10 Aug 1844 d. 18 Feb 1866
Thomas Kerr b. 17 Apr 1847 m1. Ellen Niblock m2. Eliza Adams d. 18 Feb 1890
Samuel McBride b. 1 Apr 1850 m. Alice Wilson d. 19 Jun 1895
Martin Luther b. 24 Sep 1854 m. A. Reed d. 8 May 1892

Most of the above came to me from Matt Sorensen. I do not have the documentation. I no longer have Matt's email or address. He likely can be found via Google or various mailing lists.

John Sutherland and George Allison served in the 140th Pennsylvania Infantry. John was killed at Gettysburg and George died as a result of wounds. See a transcription of the 140th roster that I made that is posted in the archives somewhere.

James Jefferson death is documented in Sycamore [Illinois] True Republican news article. His wife Amanda, later, is found in Idaho married to an Edgar Lund. She is reasonably documented by her siblings obituaries.
