I have found all of the children of William and Margaret Young Kerr in PA listed on the 1850 census. There is no mention of Robert Kerr or his wife and children. He was born in about 1791 evidently the first born child, there is no marriage record or will for him. He is on the 1820 and 1830 census for Armstrong County, PA, Allegheny Township, along with William Kerr Sr. and William Kerr Jr. On the 1830 census Robert is listed as 40 to 50 years old, his wife is 30 to 40 years old. His children two boys 5 to 10, one 10 to 15, (one 15 to 20 William B. Kerr of Bonaparte, Iowa born 1813) and 3 daughters under 5, 2 daughters 5 to 10 and one 10 to 15. His father William Kerr was 70 to 80 his mother 60 to 70 they had a boy 5 to 10 living with them and a girl 15 to 20 and one 20 to 30. Now Robert and his wife had 10 children in their household in 1830 and all of them including Robert and his wife have disappeared from any records except for one son William B. Kerr born 1813 and left a biography in which he listed his father as Robert Kerr of New York (I think this was wrong because all his census records say his father was born in PA) and his grandfather William Kerr from Ireland. William B. Kerr was born in Leechburg, Armstrong County, PA on 11-20-1813 according to his biography. Can anyone tell me who the other 9 children of Robert Kerr were and what his wife's name was? I am hoping a family member has the proof and will share it with me. This Ancestry site is fine as a place to start but there is a lot of information put on here that is not true. I would appreciate information on Robert Kerr and his wife and children. I would be glad to share what I have with you. Thank you.
