Hopefully someone who has experience searching church marriage records can help me with this question...

I have an 1876 marriage return from the City of Pittsburgh for my 3rd great-grandparents, Michael and Julia Higgins Collins. Their marriage took place at the old St. Paul's Cathedral in downtown Pittsburgh and I was wondering if I were to order a copy of the church record, would it be a more detailed record than the civil one (Parent's names, etc.)?

I'd appreciate any insight regarding this matter.
