BOARDMAN, OH - Pauline Ragan, 86, died early Saturday morning, Sept. 6, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Mrs. Ragan was born Feb. 17, 1928, in Braddock, Pa., a daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Zebekney Chvostal.

She was a graduate of Braddock High School.

She has been living in the Youngstown, Ohio area (Mahoning County) for 47 years.


Pauline was instrumental in helping at her son’s business, Buckeye Beverage, working alongside him for many years.
Mrs. Ragan was a member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church.

She enjoyed cheering for her football teams, cooking ethnic food for family and friends, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Her husband, John F. Ragan, whom she married Sept. 5, 1950, died March 18, 1980.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Dave) Sanders of Palm Harbor, Fla. and Nancy (Mark) Stanko of Boardman, Ohio; three sons, Robert (Phyllis) Ragan of Columbus, Ohio, John (Susan) Ragan of Canfield, OH, and David (Mary) Ragan of Denver, Colorado; sister Mary Timko of South Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Abby, Ashley, Rachel, Francine, Stephen, Emily, Kate, Sarah, Ben, Brandon, and Hannah.
A Panachida service will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at the Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Youngstown, OH

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
