Hi Debra & Diane:
I urge you to down load and print all of the attachments or send me you email address and I will send you all of the relevant articles.
The one with the headline "DIES ENROUTE TO HOSPITAL" which is the OBIT for Mrs. Grace E(va) Shultz has some interesting information. In the second paragraph it states, "She was a daughter of the late John E. and Annie M. [Kump] Sturtz. Her husband, the late Charles Shultz, died last year." SEE THE TOTAL ARTICLE.
In my wife’s grandmother’s story, Maggie, states that, "Eva Grace, born 30 August 1892, and her sister, were found in a field when their parents died, they went to live with the Kump families.
Diane Shultz’s Jerusalem story states that Eva Grace Sturtz, born in Jerusalem, was sent from there to live in the USA with John Sturtz and Annie M. Kump.
Note that in the Jerusalem story they were to live with John Sturtz and Annie M. Kump who were listed in the 1974 OBIT as Eva Grace’s parents.
I think we can be quite sure that John E. and Annie M. [Kump] Sturtz were the girl’s parents. It is also possible that John E. and Annie M. were not married.
An Anna KUMP, b.ca 1862 was the daughter of Andrew and Susan [Cashler/Kreschler] KUMP she would be 30yrs. old in 1892. In my notes I have her name also as Annie. I don't know why but she is probably the mother of Ava Grace. George W. Kump was also the son of Andrew and Susan KUMP. Henry KUMP, where Flora was living was also a son of Andrew and Susan. The 1900 Census lists the girls as niece's of Henry and George W. KUMP.
Regards, Jack
