Hi there! Well we are cousins then!! My great grandfather, Frederick Ringwald was Louise's youngest sibling, he was born in 1891. He was the only child born in the USA. I have so many photos and lots of history of this family if you are interested going back into the 1660s with Ringwald family. I have pictures of all of Louise's siblings and her parents who immigrated to US in 1890. I was curious about Louise and the family.. I have a few photos of when they must have come over for family reunions, but little information about their life in PA. I don't have a death date for Louise or her husband. Do you know when they were. Also would like info about the town area of PA they lived and were from. Their sibling Charles (Charlie)was the only other sibling to stay in PA. Looking for info on him as well. The other siblings, Bertha, Lena and William all lived in and around Alliance Ohio. I have photos of Karl Rinwald Louise's father and Charles your grandfather and one of his sons in a picture. Its a 4 generation photo. Would love to swap information if you would like to email me directly.

Their son Charles was my grandfather born 24 August 1890, my father was Roy Charles their 7th child born 14 November 1925 (out of 11 according to our family record) I have the ship manifest from 1892 for Frederick Morlock's immigration at the age of 2 with Louise as his mother.
Thanks for the article. I recognized the name of Runk. That is a prominant name in Centre and Clearfield Cos. 30 yrs. ago in the graveyard of the Old Mud Church, in Philipsburg, PA, I found the graves of Mary D. Sensor who was married to a Jacob Runk buried next to each other.

And I forgot that I have a copy of the record of Abraham Parsons to Elizabeth Sensor from a book entitled Marriages in Centre Co. You've undoubtedly seen that already.

I have 2 other dead ends or knots to untie. I am unable to find the father of my great-grandfather Wm Russell Sensor b abt 1852. All my research shows his parents as Wm P. Schmel and Elizabeth Sensor. My other knot to untie is to find the direct connection to my clan and the clan in Illinois and Iowa. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks for your suggestions.

~Bob Sensor, Jr.

Thank you for allowing me to look at your tree. I didn't see anyone I recognize.
I wonder if perhaps your ancestor who is your "dead end",
Joseph A, and my ancestor Elizabeth, were siblings? Your ancestor was born in PA in 1809, and mine in MD about 1790. But I believe she may have come to PA as a baby or a young child, becauseI know her family was in PA early, based on a re-publication of a 1902 account of 100 years of church history in Centre County. They list Sensor and Parsons on page 4 as holding services in their homes before the church was built. And I know that Abraham Parsons' 2 brothers are listed as among the first to have land deeds (1806)in Centre Co. Their father had come from MD in 1770. Maybe this paper will be a clue, or you may recognize some other names in the report.
You may have already seen this, but I am sending it to you as an attachment to your invitation email to me.
Good Luck!

I don't know how much help this will be.

I am descended from Elizabeth Sensor, born abt 1790 in Frederick MD. Her parents were George Sensor and his wife Mary Elizabeth. I know nothing about them, or any other children. Elizabeth married Abraham Parsons in July 1807 in Spring City, Centre County, PA. So part of the Sensors had made the move from MD to PA by then. (Parsons families also went back and forth between the 2 states.) Their daughter Eliza Ann was my great-great-grandmother.

My ancestor and yours were undoubtedly related. I have had much more success with the Parsons side.
I have learned that Sensor may have at one time been spelled Senzer, or even Sentzer, but haven't been successful there either.
I have also found any information from MD difficult to locate.

Hi, I am looking for more burial info on Henry B. Wilcox who was a Civil War soldier died in 1904 in Centre Co and is buried in the Philipsburg Cemetery. He is not listed at findagrave. Am looking for exact dates of birth and death. Also looking for burial info on his wife Esther (nee unknown) Wilcox who was born c1838 and was still living in Centre Co listed on 1910 census with son Charles Wilcox. She is gone by 1920, at least from Charles' household. The only Esther I found at PA death index was for an Ester who died in 1917 in Luzerne Co. Can't tell if this is her or not. Any info on this Wilcox couple greatly appreciated. Thanks. Cheryl

Hi there!
I'm looking for any information on Rachel Madison (maiden: Fulton): born approximately 1790-1792, married Ambrose Madison 1812, and I'm guessing she died between 1817 & 1819 as her husband remarried in 1820. Their daughter (Sarah Virginia Madison) was born in 1817 in Fayette Co. PA. Rachel was born & married in Loudon County, VA, and I've talked with a lovely person on that county board. Unfortunately there is no birth record of her there, so I'm hoping to find a death record in PA. Any info anyone can provide would be truly appreciated!

Sincerely,
Chelsey Drake
drakec66@yahoo.com

The only thing I know about Axel Andersen is that he sailed to Philadelphia on the S.S. Westernland in May 1904, to see his brother Amandus. The passenger list says he worked as a sailor.

Another brother, Harrold G.J. Andersen, also sailed to Philadelphia on the S.S. Frieslands in March 1905, along with his nephew Edward Olsen, and both listed Amandus as the person they were going to visit. I assume Edward must be the son of one of Amandus' sisters, Dorthea or Walborg.

Were you able to find my family tree?

Best regards,
Scott

Hi Tormod,

Unfortunately, I live on the East Coast, just outside Washington, D.C. It's raining hard, but not too windy yet. The worst of the storm is supposed to hit through the night. Hopefully I will not lose power, but that may be wishful thinking.

You can look at my family tree on ancestry.com and you will see what information I have for Amandus Andersen. (The name was changed to Anderson after he moved to the U.S.) I don't have a lot of information. Unfortunately, his obituary was short and did not mention any of his brothers or sisters. Amandus died near Seattle, Washington on January 1, 1945. The name of the family tree is Anderson-Nelson Family Tree.

If you have any more information about the Andersens in Norway, please let me know.

Scott

If Amundus or his other brother died before Evald , could the obituary tells us about Evald., do you know where the other brother went?
Where in ND went Amandus and when. It could be that Evald left together with him , ansd we could find him in 1920 or 1930 census.
Have you got the obits after Amandus?
Regards from Drammen
Tormod

I don't have any more information about Evald, but I am the great-grandson of Evald's brother, Amandus Andersen. If I discover any information about him, I will let you know, and please do the same. Amandus left Philadelphia and moved his family to North Dakota, USA, and finally to Seattle, Washington, where he died.

If you have any more information about the Andersen family of Drammen, I would be very interested. Thank you.

Best regards,
Scott Anderson

Thank you for the information. Yes, microfilm is very time consuming. I live in Michigan and go to our Detroit Library occassionally to look up death notices of relatives (I get a lot of great information from these) but only can get through 5 reels (and I have the complete dates) my eyes go buggy like.
