interesting, my friends and family have called me Bud, even though my legal name is Raymond.....definately interested in the article you sited.
probably a dumb question, but was does IOOF stand for?
Is it someone's name, or abreviations, an Indian word?
I posted what I have found for this family on the site here so others can see what you have all helped me to create in such a relatively short period of time. I have found that the line does continue in Oregon, so that gives me hope that perhaps one day, other Brinkerts from that area will begin work on their portion of the tree and contact me for copies of the documentation on the Canadian origins, as well as their Scottish heritage. William's mother was born in Scotland and immigrated with her family to Ontario, Canada as a young girl. William's paternal grandfather and grandmother were both German immigrants that migrated to Ontario, Canada. Farming runs in the family. His Scotish grandfather was a fairly well known gardener and grounds keeper in Waterloo.
I hope one of them finds these messages. It would be wonderful to link the families back together. To the rest of us, they are the lost link.
Thanks for your wonderful help with all of this.
You can reach me privately about the article, at
RBeghtel@aol.comI would love to get good copies of it, complete with the front cover, publisher information and index pages to make it a more complete and proper piece of reference material. I doubt that it would still be available to purchase the original book, but this much would be a great help. Love to see their faces as well. I am willing to pay you for your help in this matter.
Sincerely,
