The funeral of Eliza B. Mott, wife of Mr. J. J. Mott of 111 S. Main took place at Hollingsworth's chapel, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30; interment at the Newberg cemetery. Mrs. Mott was a most excellent woman and mother, born in Ohio Sept. 10, 1850; moved to kansas when a little girl; was married to James A. Deever in 1867 to which union were born five children, three boys and two girls, all of whom are now living. In 1885 after the death of Mr. Deever, she was married to J. J. Mott, and to them were born three children, one girl and two boys, all of whom are now living. She died Saturday, September 29th, at her home in Newberg, leaving the memory of a remarkable woman, wife and mother and friend, a confessor of Christ, and member of His holy church, one who thought of the life beyond the grave, and who reared all her children with loving care.
