Hill W. Templeton
Funeral for Hill W. Templeton, a retired department store buyer, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Finley’s Sunset Hills Mortuary. Mr. Templeton died Monday in his Southwest Portland residence. He was 89. Mr. Templeton was born in Alexandria, Minn. He had lived in Oregon since 1902, and resided in Forest Grove and La Grande before moving to Portland. During World War II, he served in France with an Army base hospital. He worked as a buyer for 32 years at the former Olds and King Department Store before retirement. He was a member of Portland Elks Lodge 142 and the American Legion Post 2 in Forest Grove. Survivors include a son, Richard F., of Capitola, Calif; daughter, Joan McCollom of Bend; two sisters, Faye Schultz and Avis Oaken, both of Grants Pass; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Private burial will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or to a charity of choice.
