Thomas Franklin MERCIER was born 19 Feb 1881 in The Dalles, Oregon. The story goes that his parents were killed in an accident when he was quite young and he was raised in an orphanage.

Are there records available that might prove or disprove this family lore?

He was married in Multnomah, Oregon twice. Once in 1907 and again in 1912. Would a marriage record give the names of his parents?
