Perhaps "Brick Wall" was an overstatement.
To answer your questions, I have not obtained any SSI applications, the birth and death records I have found of the family state Alice Russell's maiden name as Wilson and I am not sure what more a SSI application would yield.
As far as a death record for Alice Wilson, I have contacted every state agency and searched the surrounding state's death records, but alas no luck.
I drove to the state archives in Salem and went through the death records for Umatilla for the years 1933, 1934, and 1935 and came up empty.
I have tried to contact the Genealogy center in Umatilla but have not gotten a response. Do you have contact info for them via email or phone?
I would love to know the source for the info you have on May Wilson, wife of David who died in 1939.
I found her name through the marriage application for Alice Wilson. There was no father listed, so I was assuming he wasn't alive at the time of her marriage.

I have been hoping to meet someone who knew the family or had more information on them than I did.
I am still hoping to find out information on Alice Wilson's parents.
