It has been identified that Henry Bowman may have been a member of the Kennedy Wagon Train of 1862 that left Iowa heading for the Washington Territory. It is said that Henry went back to Iowa to assist his brother in the move west. They had the following children:

Mary Ellen Bowman
William Asbery Bowman
Walter Scott Bowman
Ida May Bowman

Descendants of this wagon train are planning a reunion to be held June 9-11 in Baker City, Oregon.
