22 YEARS AGO

A party of young people of Adams started in a sleigh for Athena, but when they were within about two miles of this place, one of the horses fell breaking the tongue, resulting in a runaway. The young ladies quickly jumped out but the two young gentlemen, Ralph Wallan and Lyle McIntyre hung on to the lines desperately and were dragged some distance. Other than a few bruises they were not injured. The sleigh was a wreck and the horses ran on to Athena.

I hope this question isn't as dumb as it sounds. This "piece" "came from the The Athena Press under the heading 22 Years Ago February 12, 1932. The question: Did this incident happen on February 12, 1932 or is that the date of the newspaper? That must be the date of the paper, and the "sleigh ride" took place February 1910. Okay, I think I figured it out on my own. I appreciated your post. Lyle McIntyre, one of the subjects in the article, was my father's first cousin. Thanks.
