Ron -- Thank you so much for checking all of the sources you mentioned. I have some responses:

The 1930 Census for Portland, Multnomah County. Enumerated April 8. Otto L. Rustemeyer, age 37 (1892/1893), born in Washington to both parents born in Germany, logger-Bucker/Paper Company, age at first marriage 31.
Wanda, age 31 (1898/1899), born in Washington to both parents born in Poland, age at first marriage 26.

Otto was actually born in April 1891, so he would have been age 33 when he and Wanda married in 1924.

Dorothy, daughter, age 6 (1923/1924), born in Washington
--IF this is the correct one, Wanda was born in 1898/1899 in WA.

I haven't figured Dorothy out. I doubt that her maiden name was Rustemeyer. Most likely she was a niece of Wanda.

The Oregon Death Index shows Wanda K. Rustemeyer, death on 15 Sep 1942, in . . .
--an Otto "Lud" (database is truncated) Rustemeyer died 19 April 1976 in Multnomah, spouse Ethel, age at death 85, born April 1891. Ethel is shown buried at Willamette Nat'l Cemetery, for service as a Corporal, US Army.

Ethel was Otto's last wife.

--The World War I Draft Registration Card image database shows Otto Ludwig Rustmeyer, born 1 April 1891 in Uniontown, Washington. He was a logger in Chapman, Oregon. He was medium in heigh, medium in build, gray eyes and red hair. He claimed a physical disability.

The Washington Birth Index:
Francis Victor Neuhard, born 24 March 1916 in Seattle, to Francis Victor Neuhard and Wanda Dow.

I was told years ago that Wanda's first husband was Victor Nuehardt; and by him she had a son and daughter. The reference above must be for her son. He and his father had the same name, Sr. and Jr. I did not have Jr.'s date and place of birth. I found a little info on Sr., living in Seattle before his marriage to Wanda. I also found Sr. and Jr., living together and with no others in the 1920 Census, in Washington State. Jr. was age 4, Sr. was divorced. No Wanda to be found.

--I also looked for ANY Dow, born plus/minus 5 years of 1900 born in Washington. The 1910 Census had a Jenny Dow, born in Illinois, with daughters Lowienne, 13, born in Washington; and sister Clara, age 28 born in New York. Lowienne to Wanda? They were found in Seattle.

This is a good find. I still think Wanda was born in 1897, with her son born in 1916. Wanda being born in 1899, would have her marriage to Vic Neuhardt in 1915, with her only age 16. Maybe she was that young.

Does ANY of the above match with what you may know? Any additional information might help. The leads are just to limited. I even checked British Columbia archives info.

I don't know of any connection to B.C. Otto Rustemeyer was born in Eastern Washington, moved to Idaho at age 6, and settled in Portland, OR for his entire adult life. I found Otto and Wanda in the Polk directories in Portland for 1937, 1938, and 1941/42. In the first 2 the listing was just for Otto and Wanda. In the latter directory, it was them plus a single woman listed as Irene N. Rustemeyer. I vaguely recall being told that Wanda's dau. was named Irene. Most likely the N. was for Neuhardt, and she just used Rustemeyer as her surname, since that was her mother's married name.

Is it possible to search in Portland public school records for Dorothy Rustemeyer, born about 1924, and for Irene Rustemeyer, born, say 1917-1920?
Sue,
I didn't see much information in your post to help, so I looked at your other postings... I see you are new to posting queries on Rootsweb. When you post, try to give as much information as you can to help a researcher. If you know the full date of birth, that is GREAT information. If not, where helps, or siblings. Or in this case, what was Rustemeyer's full name? Any children? It really helps to find people in the US Census, as that can lead to parents.

I first looked for Wanda Rustemeyer.
The 1930 Census for Portland, Multnomah County. Enumerated April 8.
Otto L. Rustemeyer, age 37 (1892/1893), born in Washington to both parents born in Germany, logger-Bucker/Paper Company, age at first marriage 31.
Wanda, age 31 (1898/1899), born in Washington to both parents born in Poland, age at first marriage 26
Dorothy, daughter, age 6 (1923/1924), born in Washington
--IF this is the correct one, Wanda was born in 1898/1899 in WA

The Oregon Death Index shows Wanda K. Rustemeyer, death on 15 Sep 1942, in "Portland County". (Portland is not a County)
--an Otto "Lud" (database is truncated) Rustemeyer died 19 April 1976 in Multnomah, spouse Ethel, age at death 85, born April 1891. Ethel is shown buried at Willamette Nat'l Cemetery, for service as a Corporal, US Army, , Portland, no record for him.

--I looked for ANY Francis, and ANY Vic, born plus/minus 2 years of 1916, born in Washington. Couldn't find him. Also not shown in the WA Death Certificate Index.

Does ANY of the above match with what you may know? Any additional information might help. The leads are just to limited. I even checked British Columbia archives info.

Your next step would be obtaining her obituary and/or death certificate.
Death Certificate: http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/chs/order/faqs.shtml

Local volunteers in Multnomah County (Portland, which is also in Washington County) at the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness:
READ THE GUIDELINES FIRST: http://www.raogk.org/oregon3.htm
They could check local public records, check the City Directories (Polks)(An annual publication of persons living in a populated area). They could check for an obituary. The obituary of Rustemeyer could "possibly" identify the location of any other children of Wanda and where located.

Ron Bestrom
Zink
Services for Charlie Everett Zink, 4556 NE Killingsworth St., who died Wednesday, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the Little Chapel of the Chimes. Interment will be in a Eugene cemetery.
Mr. Zink was born July 13, 1903, in Wessington Springs, S.D., and moved here in 1964. He was a member of Woodland Masonic Lodge No. 217 AF&AM, O.E.S.
I looked at the Oregon Death Index and I think this is your Charles. Many times names are indexed incorrectly. I recently found one for a Great Grandmother where someone crossed out the typed name of Eliza and hand wrote Lydia. I found her by using her last name and date of death.

Name: Zink, Charlif F
County: Multnomah
Death Date: 13 0ct 1965
Certificate: 14702
Age: 62
Spouse: Josephi

Maybe Kristeen will be able to find the obituary with this information.
Eellitta
You are right about the SS date. The Oregon death index goes from 1903 to 1998 on-line and unfortuantely he was not listed. In order to do an obit or funeral notice look up I have to have the exact date.
The SS death index is not always correct on place of death, that is where they send the last benefit too accordibng to there records. Ususally the death benefit that goes to next of kin or last know relative. In other words since most SS is direct deposited a person can moe and forget to give the exact address of where they live and when they die the SS administratiion will send the money to last known address even if they no longer lived there.
there where alot of Charles Zinks that died in the Oregon death index but none in multnomah county that I saw.
If you could give me more info like appoximate date of birth and where, if he was married(sometimes the death index will list wife) i will see if i can find hinm for you and will let you know so you can post in other places.
Kristeen Galloway

Bickford in The Oregonian, the largest daily newspaper in the Portland, Oregon area from November 10, 1959 to November 18, 1959, and I did not find a death notice, funeral notice or an obituary. My PARKIN family descends from Joseph Parkin, b. abt 1802, who came from the vicinity of Derbyshire ENG to Illinois about 1843 with wife Ann Lester and several children. My COCHRUN family descends from Simon Wesley COCHRAN/COCHRUN ,b. 1755 in Virginia, who was ordained a Methodist Episcopal Minister shortly after the Rev.
Hi,
I am looking for the death date and burial place for Mary (Ingram or Hulse) Hulse Annis Putnam. She was born in May 1843 in Ontario County, NY, and was last recorded in Portland in 1920. She probably died before the 1930 US Census.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Patricia

Hi Donna, (Replying to Cleveland)
My birth mother attended that school, between 1924/1929. Yes, I know all about the Catholic school for girls. It was not a school for bad girls, more like homeless girls. The nuns that operated the school back then, are now in St.Paul MN. I have the their address, if you would like it. My adopted mother, taught school there in 1949/55. Even have pictures of the place. No it is not being used any longer. In fact the building is run down and has been up for sale for many years. It covers some 10 to 15 blocks of the area. If you want more information, please do contact me at Nikki2F@Webtv.net and I will be glad to answer your questions. "smile"
Cheers
Nikki in Oregon
Hi Susan,
I went to the libray today. I didn't have any success looking for a death notice, funeral notice or an obituary for Thomas Womack and Lily Dryer. I just now looked at the Social Security information for Thomas Womack and see that he possibly lived in Gresham. When I go back to the library, hopefully this week, I will look in the microfilm for the Gresham newspaper, the Gresham Outlook.

I looked in The Oregonian newspaper from May 14th, through May 24th, 1967 for Thomas and from June 14th through June 24th, 1967 for Lily.

You might try Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - raogk.org and ask a volunteer to look up Lily's obituary. Try Daphne Garrison for Washington county (Oregon)who looks up obituaries in the Hillsboro Argus newspaper.

I will get back to you on Mr. Womack's obituary.
Eellitta
russetred@msn.com

Hi Nicki,
I found two newspaper articles mentioning the engagement and the marriage of Mildred Shaw:

The Oregonian
June 4, 1911 Sunday
Section 3 page 5 column 2
Society

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Newton Randall announce the engagement of their niece, Miss Mildred Shaw, to William Daniel Kier, of Los Angelas, Calif. Mr. Kier is associated with Porter Brothers, railroad contractors. The wedding will take place June 14.

Date: June 18, 1911
Location: Oregon
Paper: Oregonian
Section 3 page 5 columns 3 and 4

Kier-Shaw

Miss Mildred Anne Shaw and William Daniel Kier were married by Rev. Henry Marcotte at the home of the bride’s aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Randall, 505 East Fifteenth street, last Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock. Mrs. Kier was attended by her cousin, Miss Sarah Patrick and D.T. Porter was best man. Miss Margaret Porter played the wedding march, and Mrs. H.E. Miller sang before the ceremony. Little Helen Randall was ring bearer. Mrs. Kier wore as her wedding gown white crepe with rose point and Venetian laces. Her flowers were lilies of the valley and orchids, while the maid of honor carried pink rosebuds with fern and wore embroidered French batiste over pink satin. White peonies and palms combined to make the room in which the wedding was performed attractive, while the dining room where a wedding supper was served later, was festive with pink roses and shades for the candles of the same color. Assisting at the wedding were Mrs. J.C. Porter, Mrs. Andrew Porter, Miss Alta Broughton, Miss Grace Florence and Miss Clara Fleischman.
Hello,
Have you received these obituaries? I would be glad to look for them for you. I research The Oregonian, which is a large daily newspaper in the Portland area. Sometimes, the people who die in Hillsboro do not have an obituary in The Oregonian. If I do not find one, I will have a suggestion of who to contact to look for one for you.
Eellitta

Do you have an obituary for Timothy Long? In 1928, there might only be a Funeral Notice, but it could still have names of family members. If you would like me to look for it for you, I would be glad to volunteer. I do not charge for my services.
Eellitta
russetred@msn.com

Hi Tom,
I found a funeral notice for Theresa Robinson. I looked for a full obituary up to the time of the funeral, but I didn't find one.

The Oregonian
April 28, 1965 Wednesday
Section 3 Page 6 Column 3

See attached.

At least you now know that John Lowe Robinson, her son, was alive at the time of her death.
Eellitta
