Miss Nancy Carpenter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer V. Carpenter, became the bride of Robert S. Farrell Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Farrell, at one of the most beautiful weddings of the season, solemnized Wednesday night at Trinity Episcopal church. Dr. A. A. Morrison officiated before a brilliant assemblage of society folk. The bride, who was given by her father, wore a stunning gown of ivory satin, made with long, light sleeves and a peacock train which fell from the low waistline. The yoke of the bodice was of old lace encrusted with tiny seed pearls and the cuffs of the sleeves were also of lace and pearls. The full-length veil and short face veil were of tulle, caught into a cap of the same lace, and her flowers were white orchids, lilies of the valley and bride’s roses, arranged in a shower.

Mrs. Frederick A. Jacobs Jr. and Miss Mary Carpenter, honor attendants, and Miss Martha Carpenter and Miss Marlon Rankin, the younger attendants, wore similar frocks of bleu de Lyon chiffon, made with flowing sleeves and with ruffled skirts, falling to the ankle. Their hats were of soft straw in the same blue and they wore matching blue slippers. Their bouquets were showers of yellow roses and deep salmon-pink sweet peas. The bridesmaids, the Misses Frances Cornell, Agnes Deery, Constance Green, Geraldine Dye, Isabel Starr and Ardelia Haradon of Berkeley, wore frocks of spun gold chiffon made similarly to those of the honor attendants and hats of spun gold straw and velvet streamers. The maids carried lavender sweet peas and yellow rosebuds.

Kenneth Barker acted as best man for Mr. Farrell, and the ushers were Dr. Lee Edward Emery, Charles Barker, Gordon Duke, Henry Briston, Carl Hessey of Seattle, John Marshall and Earl Olson. A large reception at the home of the bride’s parents in Portland Heights followed the ceremony. The rooms were adorned with masses of pale pink and white fruit blooms. Assisting in the living room were Mrs. C.W. Ransom, Mrs. Brockwell Statter, Mrs. Omar C. Spencer, Mrs. Harry J. Stowbridge, Mrs. Fenton E. Grigsby and Mrs. Pat Allen. Presiding at the supper table were Mesdames Homer D. Angell, T.C. Warner, <…> Vaughn, T.C. Cornell, Robert Ream Rankin, A.B. Graham, George Norman Pease and P.W. Blanchard. Assisting in the dining room were Misses Marion Statter, Vivian Sandstrom, Virginia Zan, Nancy and Elizabeth Thatcher and Mrs. Gordon A. Dodge.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Farrell are popular members of the younger act in Portland and the weeks preceding their marriage have been gay with festivities arranged in their honor. After a short wedding trip they will be at home to their friends after May 1 at the Garden Court apartments, Twentieth and Hoyt streets.
