Marguerite Dunn

Marguerite Kurth Dunn, 94, of Newport died Oct. 10, 2002 at Oceanview Retirement and Assisted Living Community of age-related causes.

She was born Dec. 25, 1907 in Joliet, Ill. to Anna and Albert Kurth.

She married James Wesley Dunn in Joliet, Ill., on June 8, 1929.

She moved with her family from Illinois in 1937. She lived in Salem and Portland, then settled in Newport (Lincoln Co.) with her daughter, Helen, before moving to Oceanview.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Helen Harrell of Newport and Betty and Robert Davis of Eugene; a daughter-in-law, Georgia Dunn of Milwaukie; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1978; a son, Wesley Dunn, in 1998; a son-in-law, Richard Harrell, in 1984; three brothers; and two sisters.

A memorial celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospice, Newport.
