A memorial service will be held today, July 8, for John Philip Lettkeman of Eugene, who died July 5 of cancer. He was 78. He was born June 3, 1922, in Corn, OK., to Jacob and Kathryn Schmidt Lettkeman. During World War II, he served in the Army. He married Margaret Reed in Cordell, OK., on June 5, 1945. Lettkeman worked as a barker in a sawmill. His interest included fishing, camping, wood carving, gardening and music. He was an honorary elder of Bethany Church of Franklin.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ted of Waldport, and Mike and Kim, both of Eugene; three sisters, Alice Page of Midwest City, OK., Louise Hill of Mountainburg Hill, Ark., and Joan Hadley of Fort Cobb, OK.; and three grandchildren.
Today's service will be held at 3 p.m. at Bethany Church of Franklin. American Cremation and Burial Alternatives of Springfield is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Church of Franklin.

This was my grandfather. No one will probably ever read this. I miss him so much. He was such a wonderful person. He taught me how to fish, and drive the boat. He used to play the harmonica like it was a part of him. He played violin, and evry so many other instruments. My grandmother and him and I would sit and play and sing together.
I miss him so much.

I love you grandpa.
