DAVID ROLLIE HALL BURIED HERE TUESDAY
Funeral for David "Pete" Rollie Hall age 41, was held at the Driskill Mortuary, Tuesday and interment in the Canyon City cemetery.
His sudden and very tragic death was under circumstances that justified some investigation. He was shot straight through the heart with a rifle. It was reported that it was self-inflicted. However, it was pointed out that the death wound, with the rifle, could not have been inflicted without some special preparations. Relatives here are conducting an investigation. It was further revealed that several checks were drawn on his account but not in his hand writing.
The tragedy happened at Portland last Friday. He body was not found until Sunday in the basement of the home where he was making his residence.
More than a year ago he had a foot injured in some logging operations. Several operations were performed upon the injured foot. He was in Portland taking treatments for the foot. With the thought of losing his leg, he had grown somewhat discouraged. It had caused him much pain and anxiety of mind and that might have prompted the rash act.
He was born here. He is survived by 3 sisters Mrs. Geo. Smith, Mamie Dustin of Bellingham, Wash., Mrs. Josephine McLaughlin of Lone Rock, Oregon and a half sister, Mrs. Kate Cresap of Canyon City and a half-brother, Frank Baier of Canyon City.
