Meryle Virginia Miller, 75, died Sept. 14, 2008, at her home in Brownsmead.

She was born Oct. 28, 1932, in Morton, Wash., the daughter of Charles and America (Workman) Heldreth.

She was raised in Woodland, Wash., and graduated from Woodland High School in 1950. She married Donald J. Miller July 24, 1950, in Longview, Wash. She and her husband moved to the Brownsmead area in 1967 from Grants Pass.

Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Family members say that Miller had a strong faith in God, loved cooking and spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and she loved her cats. Miller attended Northcoast Family Fellowship Church and Astoria Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include son Gray Miller of Tillamook, son and daughter-in-law Randy and Lynne Miller of Tillamook, son Duane Miller of Astoria, son David Miller of Astoria, son Jonathan Miller of Astoria; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Jerry Doney of Warrenton; grandchildren, Ben Doney of Warrenton, Miranda and Justin Johnson of Sherwood, Emily Miller of Pendleton; brother and wife, Maurice and Judy Heldreth of St. Marie, Idaho; sister and husband Marilyn and Marvin Weese of Woodland, Wash., sister and husband Beverly and Dan Kelly of Longview, Wash., sister and husband Shirley and Jim Paul of Woodland, Wash.; special friend Ann Moore of Woodland, Wash.; special friends in Warrenton, Rose and Pat Carroll, Miriam Maloy, and Sarah Winterstreen. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Miller, in 1988 and a granddaughter, Rachel Doney.

Funeral services were Sept. 19, at the Astoria Assembly of God Church. Vault interment was held after the services at Knappa Prairie Cemetery.
