One of my ancestors, Earnest Charter (his middle name may start with a "G",) married Ethel Beverly and had a daughter named Violet Charter. Violet married a man named William Makinen. I am interested in Earnest's parents. His mother may have been Cherokee. I know he lived in Oklahoma for a fair bit of his life. If anyone has any information regarding his parents or his life that would help me find out more I would greatly appreciate it.
