Hi Katie,

We communicated regarding our common ancestors over 10 years ago. Have you progressed on your search for the Rogers-Mosley-Goldsbury connection? I continue to search for the mother and father of Isaac Rogers. Issac was born in apprx 1866 in Lawson, Mo, married Jane Goldsbury in July of 1866 in Richmond, MO and died shortly thereafter in Lawson of a farming accident. Jane moved to Jennings, Kansas to live with her oldest brother, Mack Goldsbury. There she gave birth her son by Isaac, Elmer Riley Rogers. A lead I am pursuing is that Mack was married to Sultana Mosley. Mack's mother in law's maiden name was Elizabeth Rogers. Is it possible that Isaac Rogers is related to Elizabeth Rogers? Isaac spent his entire life in Lawson and was a farmer. Do you have any information on the family of Elizabeth Rogers?

Jann Wallace Rogers
Seattle
(spouse Randy is great grandson of Jane Goldsbury Rogers/Isaac Rogers via Elmer Riley Rogers.)

Any chance that there is a Mary Stewart (enrolled Choctaw) who may have married Coleman Matthews Taylor in 1907 in your lineage? Coleman and wife Mary would have been my grandparents, but can't seem to find anything about this Mary. Thanks, Tom

Hello Melissa! Yes, Hurshel was my grandfather. I know Eloise pretty well. She is my mom's half sister. We're all looking for the same thing. I have not heard from Joy in several years. You may have been at your grandmother's house when my brother came to visit her. Both your grandmother's siblings were there, as well as a large portion of their family. I've promised Eloise that I will search and search until I find something. We know that she lived on a reservation here in Oklahoma, but the problem is knowing what her last name was before she married Rex Snapp. (Said to be Cattleton, but I'm not convinced.) I've also been trying to find where they married, but no luck so far. My email address is: sherryd1313@cox.net if you'd like to "talk" that way. Thanks for responding to my message.

No, I don't know her first husband's last name or anything about him. I saw Mary and Joseph too, but their Sarah died in 1925, so I don't think she is correct.
No son named Sisney. They were Lee Bourell, Elva Hunter, Joseph Bourell, and Robert Fulingen (who was adopted after his mother was killed). I know them, as Joe was my father. All they knew was that their mother was very secretive (they think she ran away from her first husband bc he was abusive) and that she was born in Texas. I am almost positive that she was never named Wilhoit though.
Thank you so much so all your time so far!!!!

I did not locate a marriage between them, so they probably were not married. Do you know at least the last name of her first husband? Where they may have lived at? Did she have a son named Sisney? Maybe the childrens names might help in locating her. I did find a family living in Tx., a Mary and Joseph Gibbs with a daughter named Sarah, who married a Wilhoit, would that name sound familiar to you? This family went to Ok from Tx. and back to Tx. Anything you can think of might be a connection. Bryghtstar

I don't think there is any legal document supporting it, but she was "married" at one point to Charles Leo Bourell. I think she might have also been married before that to another man. I believe she left the first man and the second one left her. She had at least 4 children. I believe she was one of at least 8 children, as her middle name was Octavia (because she was the 8th child).

Mary A. E. "Lizzie" Smith Deaton

The Poteau Valley Genealogical Assoc. provided me with my gr-gr-grandmother's name as being Mary A. E. "Lizzie" Smith Deaton, wife of William Lee Deaton and mother of only known child, William Joseph Deaton, buried in Hontubby cemetery, OK. Her son having the name "Joseph" leads me to think her father or a sibling had the name "Joseph", as that name is not in the Deaton line. PVGA also provided Lizzie's burial as being in Cavanal Cemetery wherein a S. S. Smith is also buried, but can't make a connection to my "Lizzie" Smith Deaton. Still haven't located who her parents/siblings names are or basically anything other than the aforementioned, and would most grateful with any leads in this direction. Born 26 Oct 1868, died 10 Aug 1891 in LeFlore County, OK, age 22, 1/2 Cherokee (family story goes)with family originally from Georgia. This is the grandmother I initially started my research for, and now have many branches of other families, but she is STILL the lost branch. Her only known son married my gr-grandmother, Lola Bizzell Deaton, mother of my grandmother, Lillian Marie Deaton Harrison, wife of Edgar LeRoy Harrison, both died 1950's in Poteau, LeFlore County. Thank you for any assistance on Lizzie or any of these folks!

I am searching for any info that relates to Warren Jones and Ella(last name unknown). It was stated to me that they were from Tennessee and they had several sons; Benjamin Franklin, Tom, Jim. Benjamin Franklin supposedly was born in Texas but not sure. He was born in 1872. He got married in the Indian Territory of the Cherokee Nation in 1895 to Mary Ann Nally in Muskogee and had lived in Choteau, Indian Territory. Jim Jones supposedly owned a big hotel in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Have researched Warren and Ella in Nashville, TN but came up with nothing. Would like to know where Warren Jones was from and where Ella was born and where did they live? Any details would be greatful.

The only child I've found is Will and unable to find any marriage records, birth, census as he was born July, 1891.
To all Blackwells and Blackwell Researchers: A group of roughly 20 Blackwell cousins, descendants of the presumed brothers George Washington "Wash" Blackwell (b. 1794 Hiwassee Valley, TN) and Joseph Blackwell (b. 1805 Hiwassee valley, TN), are seeking additional cousins to share existing family research and to focus on further research, including possible participation in family DNA research.

The goal of this effort is to determine the parentage and earlier ancestry of these two brothers, who were presumed born in TN (one possibly VA) but migrated to what is now Hickory Co, MO in the 1830s. We know there are fairly large concentrations of these brothers' descendants currently living in Hickory and Taney counties in MO (both brothers)and in the area near Big Cabin in Oklahoma (primarily descendants of GW), but we would like to establish additional ties to others descended from them. Please respond to Doug Smith at smithdr49@yahoo.com Thanks
