I'm also looking for my great-gr-grandmother, who was a Smith. I'm told her name was Mary Smith and she married William (Will or Willie) Deaton, who was born 1867. They had a child named William (Will) Joseph Deaton. I was told she died during childbirth. The only child I've found is Will and unable to find any marriage records, birth, census as he was born July, 1891. I'm told this is the line of Cherokee from Georgia, but don't have any further info. Please help if you can! I've been at a deadend for a couple of years with this Smith line. Thanks!
