The year is 1906 - February, on or after the 8th day...
Isaac S. "Ike" Killian dies from pneumonia.
Isaac and his wife Lucy (Bradshaw) Killian had purchased 160 acres in No Man's Land. The family had not been on their land a month or so before the death of Isaac. Lucy dies within 10 days of Isaac's death from pneumonia.
Isaac has KILLIAN family in Comanche County, Oklahoma. Lucy has BRADSHAW family in Greer County, Oklahoma.
Can not find the graves of either ancestor... A one line notation on a website indicates David Killian, Isaac's brother, from Comanche County was summoned to the Panhandle... A few lines from a letter indicate Lucy and the children boarded a train heading back to Greer County - the train makes it to Groom, Texas. Lucy and one of her five children aboard the train are sick. The family is removed from the train. There is no hospital, Lucy gives birth to a premature baby at the local hotel. Lucy's older brother is sent from Greer County to Groom to remain with Lucy. The five children are taken by surrey to the maternal grandparents. Lucy dies in Groom, Texas. Lucy's brother then brings the infant to the maternal grandparents in Greer County.
Where is Isaac S. Killian buried?
There is no definate indication where he was buried...
I have two legal descriptions of where his land was located:
1) ... a homestead claim in now what is Texas Co., Okla., being the NE 1/4 Sec. 29, Tp. I North, R 13 E.
This is the description in a 1910-Petition for Appointment of Guardian - recorded in Greer County, Oklahoma.
2) ... NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION TWENTY-NINE IN TOWNSHIP ONL NORTH OF RANGE THIRTEEN LAST OF THE CIMARRON MERIDIAN, OKLAHOMA, CONTAINING ONE HUNDRED SIXTY ACRES.
As recorded in Land Patent Details, from the Woodward Land Office in a Title Transfer dated 1/11/1912.
Is the above descriptions located in PRESENT DAY Cimarron County? PRESENT DAY Texas County? And where can I find a news article, doctor records, anything that would absolutely confirm or merely indicate where Isaac was buried?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
