The Mennonite Church which was established on Quanah's lands has records.
A descendant tells that when a Mennoniote Missionary asked Quanah Parker for a place to build the church, they mounted horses and rode west for 4 miles. Quanah carved a notch in a post oak tree and told him - "Build Jesus house here."
