I am trying to find any information on John Manasco/Menasco who married Derinda Self in the creek nation,indian territory ,Okla before 1859.I have found the old settlers roll # for them showing them to be in Broken Arrow tribal town I need a dawes roll #,or where I can it I also need to know ,if possible,the name of Dorindas clan any help would be greatly appreciated John

Iwould be interested in this info also as this is my husband's great grandmother.

John Newton Manesco was born 8/15/1821 in N.C. and died 3/15/1880 in Natchitoches Parish, La. He married Dorinda Self 1842-42 in Natchitoches Parish and they had 11-13 children, all born in Natchitoches Parish. Dorinda was born 6/6/1823 in the Creek Nation of Georgia and died 4/26/1901 in Natchitoches Parish.

Dorinda's parents were John Self and Catherine T. Berryhill. John Self was born 1793 and died circa 1860. Catherine was born 10/2/1795 (or 1800 ?) and died 8/1871 in Natchitoches Parish. She was born in the Creek Nation of Georgia. They had 9-11 children.

John and Catherine apparently went to the Creek Lands in western Ark. about 1830 and returned to Natchitoches Parish about 1838.

NOTE: Apparently John Manesco married Dorinda in La., not Indian Teritory (Ok.).

Dorinda's parents were Benjamin Hawkins Self and Florence England Walker.

The Dawes Commision was established in 1893-1896 so possibly this family has no Dawes Roll Number.
