Mitchell Yerger is half or full brother of my great great grand mother Lucinda Yargee, daughter of NancyMcQueen Yargee, Lucinda was half sister to Muscogee Yargee, daugter of Millie. Muscogee married Joshua Ross, great nephew of Cherokee Chief John Ross,Lucinda married John G. Smith who was 5/8 Creek Baptist missionary and supreme court justice who came over from Alabama during the trail of tears. There is an article in Chronicles of Oklahoma regarding John G. Smith under Tuckabatchee Micco heading. He drowned in 1870 in Artussee community, where he had a grist mill established. This is about 7 miles southwest of Eufaula. The lake took over that land and I assume that he and Lucinda are buried underneath the waters. They were not relocated. Please email me at MarilynTolbert@hughes.net as I have changed to broadband.
