Do you know where Eli Blaylock was born? Our Blaylocks migrated from North Carolina to Georgia then onto Arkansas, Oklahoma, Idaho and finally settling in Oregon. We believe that our Rowena Blaylock married this Mr. Murphy in Arkansas or Oklahoma? In 1902 & 1903 they had two children, Elza C Murphy (1902) and Lilly Murphy (1903) both born in Oklahoma. We believe Mr. Murphy died sometimes after the birth of Lilly as Rowena Blaylock-Murphy remarried a John Atteberry about 1906 in Oklahoma. They had a daughter, Virginia Atteberry born May 15, 1908 in Oklahoma. In the 1860 census for Arkansas, Rowena's mother, Susan Phariss (Blaylock), 13 at the time, was found living with a Sarah Murphy and her two sons. We suspect that this Sarah Murphy may be the grandmother of the Mr. Murphy that married Susan's daughter, Rowena? Susan Phariss married Benjamin Franklin Blaylock in Yell County, AR Oct 25, 1868. Benjamin's father was Joseph Henry Blaylock and his mother Mary (unknown) Blaylock. Benjamin was born Jan 26, 1847 in Atlanta, GA.
