Found a scanned copy of Fred. Herman Applegate... son of Siegel and Sallie (Fisher) Applegate. ...when he admitted to the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, washington...back in Sept. 1978. He died in 1979. He might be buried there...don't know. Siegel's brother...John Clayton Applegate...was my Grandfather. I too am looking for info on the other Applegates.

The only thing I know is from the 1930 census where they were living in Jenks, Tulsa Co., Okl. And that they are buried in Bixby Cem. in Tulsa Co.

He is not in the Tulsa World death index at the county library so you may have to call the bixby cemetery to get the information that they have. It is public record so they should give it to you.

Do you know what city he died in? I looked at the death index for the Tulsa World newspaper online and did not find his name. I may have to go to the public library in the city he died in to get the obituary if there is one. These are their burial dates at Rose Hill cemetery. They
are all located in Graceland section, Lot 500. Alexander
is the only one with a listed space # 5 in their online
index.

Alexander Jan. 1, 1969
Caroline E. April 1, 1940
Donald April 21, 1918
John April 2, 1927

Alexander's SSDI birth date matches the 1900 census
when they were living in Payne county, Okla. and 1910.

There are only three others named McLean at Rose Hill,
Edward, Lottie M. and Daisy D. all buried in Fairview
section.

Actually, that information is available in Volume 1 of Funeral Home Records of Tulsa, published by the Tulsa Genealogical Society in 1989. Through their work, it isn't necessary to search through years of records.

There is an index, available online the Society's website, www.tulsagenealogy.org, which shows a Silas Carroll reference from Volume 1, page 229. Volume 1 includes the records of Moore's Funeral Home for 1927-1955, extracted by TGS members. They offer the volume for sale or will send a copy of the page with a SASE and $1 per page (mail to P. O. Box 585, Tulsa 74101).

The entire set of Funeral Home Records of Tulsa may be found at the TGS Library, 9136 E. 31st St. (918-627-4224), the Tulsa City-County Library's Genealogy Center (918-746-5222; genaskus@tulsalibrary.org), and TCCL's Research Center (918-596-7977; http://www.tulsalibrary.org/askus/). I would suggest an e-mail or phone call to any of these libraries to learn the date and place of birth and date and place of death. Maybe this the right Silas Carroll.

There is a Silas Carroll listed in one funeral homes
records but it's recorded by dates not names and she
can't look through thirty years. Anything else you
can provide to narrow it down?

I'm not related.
I found William R. and Ruth buried at Memorial Park
cemetery, located at East 51 St. and South Memorial
in Tulsa.

Sec. 7A Lot-122

W.R. Clement 17 June 1868-24 May 1930
burial was on 26 May 1930

Ruth Clement 20 Dec. 1873-28 May 1953
burial was on 29 May 1953

I called the funeral home that handled Ruth's and
she sent me her obituary, funeral arrangements and
her death certificate. Sorry, her father is listed
as unknown Dickenson on it. Her mother is shown as
Louisa Everett.

I found her mother:
Louisa F. Dickinson 8 Jan. 1843-13 July 1912 is buried
at Fairlawn cemetery in Okla.City. You can see her
headstone on the Find A Grave website

Her obit also mentions as the other article from the
Oklahoma county board, that Ruth designed the first
Oklahoma State flag in 1911. Her picture is in the
obituary also.

I mistakenly listed Rhoda as living in Ca. but she was
in Ohio.

Linda looked up Silas' death date from her books
or I couldn't have called the funeral home yesterday.

I have found Charles C., Clara, James F. and Maud
with their families in 1920-30 but no sign of Silas.

Molly/Mollie King cemetery may not exist now.
The Johnson county board or mail list has better
knowledge than what the funeral home was told by
Harvey.

I haven't found them after this census.

I did find that Silas' birth year is wrong on
Moores funeral home information because of the
incorrect birth year given.

Birth listed as Nov. 19, 1881 in Ky. and he died,
June 20, 1955 at age 83.
He was taken to Clarksville, Arkansas for burial at
Mollie King cemetery.

He had lived here for 45 years. He farmed in and around
Avant, Murphy and Sperry.

He was survived by daughters, Nancy Letterman of Ca.,
Clara Lynch of Sperry, Ok. and Rhoda Clemmons of Ca.
and sons Charles of Arkansas and Harvey of Ca.

Harvey provided the information at the funeral home.

There was no Tulsa obituary for Silas, maybe someone
in Clarksville can search there. Hopefully someone
there will know if the cemetery changed names, I don't
see one listed on USGS or on the Johnson website as
Mollie King, could be another mistake as Silas' birth
year was also.

I am looking for information on Maud Williams Torbett, wife of Jesse Granville Torbett. Maud was born in Crawford County Arkansas and died in 1980 and buried at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow. I am looking for an obituary which I hope will identify more family members that I might contact for family research purposes. Maud had a brother, Locke Williams, who died in 1988 in Fort Smith Arkansas. I am also looking for more information on this family. Ruth's mother is living with Wm and Ruth and is a widow on the 1900 census Caldwell Co., KY. Ruth's mother was b 1840 KY and her name is listed as Lou F. Dickinson. Wm R. Clement's parents were Francis Marion Clement & Jordena Kirkpatrick. Wm & Ruth are on the 1910 census in Oklahoma City, OK. They are living with their daughter and son-in-law, Forest Shoemaker, on the 1930 census in Tulsa. Can anyone tell me more about Ruth Dickinson? I am trying to find out who her father was.

Yes, it is too early for any death record, since they were not normally compiled or required to be completed in Oklahoma by law until about 1916. Please explain the information you were hoping to receive from the death certificate so that some alternate sources could be suggested to get such information. Do you have any other information about them, such as a date of birth or names of any of their children?

A search on www.findagrave.com shows a "Mary Carroll"
Birth: Mar. 21, 1873
Death: Feb. 4, 1961

But it does not show a silas. Note, this doesn't mean that he is or is not buried here. A person uploaded this info to this site so it can be a partial listing. Also, since you didn't give any birth or death date, I don't know if this Mary's info is for your Mary.
