John E McAfee, age 19, born 9/23/1907 married Mamie (unknown maiden). Looking for his marriage, to possibly locate his parents names.

There is NO record of this marriage in the Tulsa County Marriage Records--I looked it up at the courthouse today, so apparently they were married in another county.

John and Mamie's names do not show up as a married couple until the city directories for 1933. Since you know his birthdate (9-23-1907) and since the SSDI indicates his Social Security Card was issued in New York, you can assume he was born in New York--have you considered ordering his birth certificate from the State of New York?

Thanks so much for checking that. I found them in the 1930 census. It indicated he was born in Oklahoma, as were both his parents. I'm sending off for his SSN application, perhaps it will have his parents on it. I will also try sending for his birth certificate.

I'm also a McAfee researcher. My line is centered in Central KY. , but have traced them back to Scotland in mid 1600's.

I've working on a written history of this family and have determined that several brothers came to America at different times, and settled in various locations in the east. As time progressed decendants scattered everywhere across the country.
My question is How far back do you go in your research?? Have you any connections to KY, VA, GA,TN,SC or NC ??If so I'd love to hear from you
